Self-discovery & scenario development
In the process of self-discovery, it is very important to have a clear perception of oneself. One's upbringing, level of education, values, etc. These details lead to the outcome of one's development of future scenarios. So before writing my future diary, I need to introduce myself.
Personal Position
I come from a beautiful city - Qingdao, where the landscape is surrounded by sea on three sides and mountains on the other. In the house where I was born, it was only 300 metres away from the sea so I couldn't live without the sea every day. In summer, I would run to the beach with my family or friends to swim and in winter, I would go for a walk on the beach in the evening after dinner to watch the sunset. The city used to be a German colony, so you can see a lot of German buildings and streets in Qingdao and walking around here is something I enjoy. The economy here is not so developed and the people are friendly and gregarious, which has contributed to my enthusiastic and outgoing personality.

What is particularly interesting is that my kindergarten, primary school, junior high school and high school were all built on the beach. Since I was a child, I have received a traditional Chinese education – spoon- feed education. The advantage was that I did learn much knowledge and memorised many poems, but the downside was that this resulted in a lack of exploration of me and a failure to find my own strengths. In my family, I have a mum, dad, an older sister, and a brother, so the concept of family is very important to me, which leads to a strong sense of responsibility. My parents both love me very much, but they often knocked down my self-confidence since I was a young child and not on purpose, which has led to me having a bit of inferiority to this day.
At home, my parents were very strict with us. From a young age, my dad told me I don't expect you to be famous or rich but you must be a good person. The family upbringing combined with having lived by the sea all my life, so for me, life below water and kaitiakitanga are closer to my values. Having a reverence for nature, a love of animals and a strong sense of empathy are all traits that define me.

The Future Diary

One day in 2037, technology development appears to have stalled and many young people do not choose to work in companies; some even become farmers. Instead of working for a big company, I took the money I had earned over the years and opened a small shop on the beach.
At eight o'clock in the morning, listening to the sound of the waves, I wake up in bed by the sound of my little dog. I pet him on the head and say good morning to him. Afterwards, I start making my breakfast while I make the dog's breakfast and reward him with canned meat.

After breakfast, I go to wash up, I just open my mouth and stick my face in the wash bin for 2 minutes, and the machine helps me brush, wash, and sunscreening together.
I walk with the dog to the supermarket to buy the ingredients that I need to open the shop today. After the purchase, I arrived at my small shop with my dog on this transport.

My shop is located on the ground floor of the beach and is a small coffee shop in the morning and a bar in the evening. My friend, also my workmate, arrives before 10 am to work with me and prepare the shop for opening. In the mornings, it's almost exclusively people who come to buy coffee, so we make new beads together when we have more time. In the evening, we set up several small tables outside the shop so that customers could enjoy the sea breeze and the sunset with a glass of wine. There is a mixer or a craft beer on tap.
When it's not busy, my friend and dog watch the shop so that I can go surfing. My surfboard is in my shop, which I use every day so I can take it to the beach whenever I want.

At 12 o'clock, my friend and I finish up, close the shop, say goodnight, and walk home with the dog to end the day.
