The Future Diary 2.0
In 2037, due to the increasingly serious problem of global warming caused by the production of a large number of greenhouse gases. There will be few glaciers left in the Antarctic and Arctic, which will indirectly lead to the rise of sea levels. Most of the low-lying coastal cities on the earth are in semi-sea water and semi-terrestrial state.

The city I live in used to be a hills city. Due to the rising sea level, most people's living space has become like an island. My house is built on one of the small islands. The whole house is made of the reinforced concrete structure and the bottom is framed by steel. This is mainly to prevent frequent storms caused by rising sea levels and reduce the corrosion of waves. It also prevents high tides from flooding the house.

The waves lapping on the sand, mixed with the salty smell of the
sun-drenched sea water reaching my ears and nose, I got out of bed to start my day. After breakfast, I put on my rain boots and set off from home to the supermarket to buy what I need today.
Due to the waste of resources and the shortage of oil, many people have been resigned or voluntarily left their posts, which has caused a certain degree of technological stagnation. And I chose to go to the beach to buy a small house and open a shop with the money I have earned in the past few years.

Due to the rise of sea level, people living in seaside cities, for the convenience of commuting, no one will use cars, and everyone will choose amphibious transportation. More viaducts were also built in the city. And I chose a skateboard, which can move quickly in water and on land, which is more convenient to use and carry.

Standing on the skateboard and feeling the sea breeze blowing past me, I arrived at my little shop. Make coffee for guests in the morning and serve beer in the evening, watching the ebb and flow of the sea. In my spare time, I take my surfboard to the beach to surf. My daily life gradually adapted to being surrounded by the sea. . .
Reflection
·Changing mental programming
Through these few weeks of study, I learned many types of design frameworks, purposes, and ways of design that I knew before.
Speculative Design, Pluriverse design and Transition design.
Some of these are designing things for their own imaginary futures, some are designing in a new worldview concept, and some are using design to connect the crisis-filled present with a better future.
·The problem I want to focus
I now want to focus more on how to prepare for future crises, improve my life now, or adapt to future changes. In the past few weeks of study, I have focused on the new challenge of the 21st century - the climate crisis. With recent news reports that the temperature in the Arctic has reached 32 degrees, and 6 billion tons of ice have been melted in three days, the climate problem has gradually become more and more serious. What will our future look like when sea levels rise? How do we deal with the climate problems that come with it?
I think that reducing carbon dioxide emissions is far from enough, so we can adapt in advance from transportation and architecture, in order to better adapt to future life.
