Concept idea
“In the future, people's homes will need to better face the problem of rising sea levels caused by climate change and need to take environmental issues into account.”
Based on the scenario I created, I began to conceptualize my final artefact.
The first round of ideation
Ideas brainstorms
I started brainstorming on The Future of Housing and came up with a list of 30+ possible concept ideas.

I chose what I thought were the best three of these ideas and developed them more broadly by sketching, collecting photos, writing stories and listing the issues that needed to be considered.

The idea 2 is more in line with the development of my scenario, if I choose idea 2, I would prefer to present it in a utopian direction, to show that this house brings you a convenient and beautiful future life. Idea 3 will be a dystopia where people live in small houses in a harsh future and experience different environments through VR, maybe some scenarios disappearing when the sea level rises, to better generate concern about the future of the world. Because I had a hard time choosing between idea 2 and idea 3, I developed these two ideas more deeply.
The first round of iteration

During this process, I thought more deeply about these two ideas and I ended up with idea 2. The first aspect was about my scenario, in which I had already envisaged a design of a house that could move. Moreover, my ideal future life in Blog1 was to be combined with the sea. The second aspect was about technology, both ideas could not be realised without modelling, but I had only used blender once before, almost from scratch. Thirdly because it was the most suitable for my idea of speculative design.
The second round of ideation
In the Blog2 Speculative design, I have mentioned its limitations. “Speculative Design aims to raise social discussion about the future but still requires a certain degree of communication. Linking with reality, the projects of Speculative Design seem to only exist in the artists' exhibitions. How could a project that only in an exhibition make people think, it only can resonate with the viewer or designer. So I think the next breakthrough point and goal for Speculative Design is to make these works more visible to the more and more general population.”
So almost from the beginning, I had already started to think about the general direction of the final design - in the form of an advertisement. Idea 2 is more in line with the setting of an advertisement, where beautiful things attract people to buy them.
With the goal clearly defined, I did second ideation, three mood boards to collect some designs for animated posters and adverts.

The second round of iteration
Based on the Mood boards and some of my own ideas, I drew some sketches of the shape and modelled them with the blender.

Video writing
In 2050, 200 million people worldwide are now displaced from their homes due to rising sea levels caused by global warming. The Mhouse is a mobile house with an engine located at the end of the house that can raise it from the bottom of the sea to sea level. Imagine that you drive Mhouse on the road to wherever you want to go. At night you drive it to enjoy the night sea view. When you want to sleep, the Mhouse sink to the sea floor, creating a dark environment for you to fall asleep in. Click on the link below to order now!
Final Artefact
Finally, I animated and edited an advertising video in Blender and a drawing of the interior of the Mhouse.
